A Day in the Life of...

What do you do? How do you spend your days "working" besides dicking off here... I'll start. I get to work, I make coffee for my boss (which always feels demeaning)...check my 300 emails and respond accordingly. I do mostly data entry and event planning. Sounds boring enough...it is...but there is a certain amount of pride that comes with party planning. When your guests have an awesome time and they thank you for it, that is great. I very much depend on being needed, so doing things that others can't do is somewhat satisfying. However, I don't like being a spectator to the action. This job is also not for me.

I get to work, check with Security, were there any problems? Then I go upstairs & run the security wand patrols (tells us where they were all night). On Tuesdays I pay bills and on the 20th I bill the tenants. Other than that I spend my day making sure our tenants are the right temperature, lights work, toilets are clean & they are happy......

Did I mention that I also do expense reports? So my boss who claims he's eating "healthy" is screwed when I expense his KFC and Burger King.

Start work on a papers, grants, paper reviews, grant reviews, sign stuff, or any one of many tasks.Have meetings as scheduled to kick lab rat butts.Walk with spouse, have lunch.Back to the tasks mentioned above.Leave work and pick up a kid somewhere, pick up dinner if requestedHave dinner, go for walk (sometimes), watch baseball and make sure kids do homework or quiz for tests.Read and write email or work on papers or grants.go to bed Ewww, how dull!! A travel day is very different.

Lets see I get to work, make coffee, check e-mail and fax's, and start dealing with all of my customers needs and pretty much do that all day. Also work evenings 2-3 days a week, and weekends as a contractor/Warranty Manager for a New home builder. Real exciting let me tell you.

Hey girls and germLets see well I don't have a quote unquote real job, mines pretty laid back. I usually get up around 6am get ready for my day, check my email and then head over to school. Once there I run equipment over to the class rooms. I get to show teacher how to set up their VCR's or run the slide shows, it's all very exciting let me tell you! Then after the drop-offs are made I go back to the office answer phone's and take photographs for peoples school ID's. Yep they love that I make them look better than the DMV! That's about it for work at least for the summer, next week will be a whole other story. Of course come December I'm sure my new job will not be this kick back!

I get up at 7:00 and hit the snooze. I really get up at 7:10, and I'm out the door by 7:30. I take the streetcar to work and I'm into work by 8:00, where I then make a pot of coffee.I then watch TV for eight hours and transcribe it.I walk home, which is an hour, and I may or may not make a stop or two somewhere on the way home. My evenings involve either staying in and making something, having a friend over, or going out to eat. I shower around 10:00 or something and have a snack.The (boyfriend?!) and I talk every night at 11:00 and I watch Blind Date at 12:00. Then bed.

My alarm goes off at 5:30, but I don't get up until 6:00. Then, I jump in the shower, get ready, make sure my son is up and getting ready, and head out. I drop him off at school, and then arrive at the office for the morning team meeting at 7:45. I meet with my partner, and we go over things that need to be addressed (staff management, financial details, patient flow, etc.). Then I go from room to room seeing patients. In between patients, I tackle the mountain of paperwork that comes with being self-employed, think up new ways to market myself, check and return email, reconcile my bank account, and pay bills. After work, I pick my son up from after school care and hit the gym. Then, its suppertime, bathtime, and bedtime. Once he's squared away, I do a little housekeeping, read or spend time at the computer, and go to bed.

I'm awake usually by 5:00, make coffee and fire up the 'puter. I start to wake up Boycub around 7, he generally emerges around 7:20 and we're out the door by 7:40. Drop him off at school and get to work about 8:00. Carts and wagons get pulled out of the garden center and then sweep the floor, open doors, check and water plants. The the retail doors open and hopefully floods of customers wander through. I'm supposed to stick to the perennials section, but usually get bored and head out to trees and shrubs. I have to keep an eye on the rocks too, weighing and loading them out. Somtimes I'll get a customer that needs a whole design, that's fun. If there are no customers, I pull weeds, do some pruning, I've nicknamed it all "make pretty". If it's hot or windy, I water plants again. Then carts and wagons are pulled inside for the night.Boycub gets himself home from school. We go over homework and the day, and then I get a shower and bed, hopefully by 10.

Hmmm...the 3 alarms I have go off between 5:45am and 6:30am. When I finally get up, I brush my teeth, check e-mail, have my morning OJ on the boards w/ Kay, Gypsy, C-Dad, Domaine, and others. Then jump into the shower around 8:30am...get to work bet 10am and 10:30am. Check my 4 e-mail acct's (2 work and 2 personal), and start working while eating breakfast at my desk. In between, I check the boards, am on a few conference calls, e-mail my boss, make work phone calls, get lunch in somehow...mostly eat at my desk, leave work at 5:30-6pm.

Wow...we all lead very dull lives!A little different day from a trip this summer.Up at 4 am, head to ariport at 5:15 am, catch flight to Boston.Arrive Boston, rent car, meet Dad and Step mom for dinner.Spend night at Sisters.Drive to Maine in the morning (5 hrs). Arrive at hotel. Check in.Walk to center of town have dinner, ice cream sundae, walk around the beautiful harbor.Give lecture next day, drive back to Boston.Meet Dad and Stepmom for dinner with their friends.Up at 6 am, drive to airport, fly home.

Wake up at 6am...shower, eat a little breakfast...throw on shorts and a T-shirt, sandals too perhaps, go to work...kick ass at work...leave at 330-4ish depending on when i want to...head home, work out perhaps or relax and go out with friends... Yeah, lyn, pretty pathetic...i know

Up @ 6:55am, make b-fast and then off to the office. Start work @ 8am and then done with all my work by 9am. I surf the net or get on here to pass time. Sometimes stuff comes up that I deal thru the day but not to often.

Get up about 6:30 ammake my coffee, while that is getting ready go to the bathroom wash face and put in contactsget coffee, feed fish and then get dressed for the dayif have time take care of the dishes and have breakfastgo to work, turn on all the computers, make the coffee, and run the front office till 5go home sit on sofa, have glass of wine, cheese, and cracker tray, maybe a light dinnermake my phone calls, check email, watch TV and then off to bed.

okay might as well..... I get up at 7 ish. brush teeth, shower, dress and hop on the subway. I get to work. eat breakfast at my desk, check my email, open my mail, open MSN. I take a walk around the floor, chit chat with my co worker, gossip, kill time. i do my work...send out checks, request checks, harass accounting, drink more juice.answer the phone, scan stuff,,, I might file ever month or so....gossip some more. i take lunch, walk around, maybe shopping, eat. come back to work.. make a ton of personal calls. do more work. open more mail. do paper work. help someone with their pension stuff. write a letter. write on MSn. write a memo or two. make more personal calls....tell my boss he is retarded. and back on the subway on my way home... then maybe gym, maybe out to dinner, maybe cook something,.maybe im out.,.who knows...bedtime is 11:30.
