Is your dating life one first date after another? Can’t seem to get a second date?  Perhaps you are committing some of these first date crimes. Read these first date tips and get that second date.

1.        Do not treat a first date like a job interview. No one likes to be interrogated. Save your 20 questions for later. Any really important issues should be dealt with subtly.

2.        Turn off your phone. Are you a cell/ mobile phone junkie? If you can’t spend time on a first date getting to know someone, when will you make time for him or her? Voice mail was invented for a reason!

3.        Be punctual. Do you like to be kept waiting? Treat the other person the way you like to be treated yourself. If you are running late, ring them and let them know. No one wants to feel like they have been jilted at the last moment.

4.        No rehashing exes. No one likes bitter and twisted. Save the romantic failures for later. You will not get a second date if you are clearly not over the ex.

5.        Smile. People are attracted to happy people.

6.        Listen. Let the other person speak and finish their conversation. No one likes people who monopoloze converations and are not interested in others.

7.        Excellent personal hygiene is a must. Although this sounds obvious, toothpase and deoderant go a long way in ensuring whether or not you will get second date.

8.        Compliment your date. Admire the tie, shirt, earrings, whatever. Make it sincere. Everyone likes to be noticed.

9.        Arrive sober. Although it can be tempting to soothe first date nerves, arriving smelling like a brewery could leave your date wondering whether you have substance abuse problems.

10.     No sex. Your date may look like Angelina or Brad. It may have been a long time. Having sex on a first date inevitably turns the first date into a one-night stand. Keep something for later.
