Double Date

Double date, and increase your chances of getting a second date! When dating someone new, the double date can be a great way to break the ice. There is less chance of awkward silences, and generally, the girl will feel more at ease.

Girls have traditionally been brought up to be wary of strangers.  At the start of the dating game, this includes you. There is so much media out there about terrible things happening to women, that girls like to feel that they are not putting themselves in danger. If you are contemplating asking out a girl who you do not know well, suggesting that you go with another couple can make the scenario look a whole lot safer for her. Obviously, a double date does not mean, you, her, and a bar full of your mates. A double date would be you, her and another couple. Suggesting that she brings along a good friend, or sister, and a date could make that reluctance that you are seeing turn into a yes.

The great thing about a double date is that conversation is going to run more smoothly. If you are the shy type who struggles for words when nervous, this can be a great option. You will have a better chance to find your way in the conversaton with the extra people to talk to.

The double date is also a great opportunity to see the other person in their natural habitiat. Generally, people are more relaxed when around people they know, so their guards drop faster. Good habits, and bad, may well be revealed a little sooner than when everyone is on their best impression behaviour.

The only downside to the double date can be the feeling of being “checked out” by the other couple for the person who is the outsider. You should select the other couple with some care. No one likes to be interrogated on a first date, so do not invite anyone along who will feel compelled to ask 20 questions. Other people to avoid are really clicky people from your circle. You do not want your date to feel totally excluded from the event. Another extremely poor choice would be any kind of ex. Bringing along an ex, no matter how good a friend they might be now, will never prove to be a good choice.

The double date can be an excellent option for a first date. Select the other couple with some care. Conversation will flow and everyone will be more relaxed. By suggesting a double date, you may well increase your chances of getting a date.
