The Kiss Goodnight

The end of the date is fast approaching. To kiss or not to kiss? The kiss goodnight need not be a nightmare. Follow these dating tips to ensure that the first locking of the lips is not the last:

1.       Good oral hygiene. No one wants to kiss anyone with bad breath or bad teeth. Ensure you have employed your toothbrush before the date, or the kiss goodnight will never happen.

Read the body language.

2.       Is your date leaning away looking bored or defensive? Are they fidgeting, or have their arms crossed over their chest? Sadly, if the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then it is unlikely that there will be any kissing going on. This person is giving off signals that they are not interested in you. The only good night kiss you will be getting here is the “kiss off”.

3.       Is your date maintaining regular eye contact with you? This is a great signal that they are physically interested in you. Everyone finds it difficult to keep their eyes off something they fancy. Think “eyes on the prize”. The kiss goodnight is looking highly likely.

4.       If your female date starts fiddling with her necklace this is another great indicator that she is interested. The best sign of all though, is when she starts playing with her hair. This is a purely subconscious preening signal of the flirting woman.

5.        If your male date starts rubbing his nose, fiddling with his hair, or jiggling the coins in his pocket, he too is looking to impress. The more relaxed and amorous he is feeling the wider his legs will be opening on his seat. Again, purely involuntary body language that points to a kiss goodnight looming.

6.       How do you really know if your date is keen for a kiss? Are they licking their lips? Touching their mouth regularly? Tilting their head when looking at you? Placing their head near yours? “Yes” to any of these and they are definitely up for a goodnight kiss.

7.       Most dating experts agree that a kiss goodnight on the first date should be a quick peck on the cheek. You should leave your date intrigued and hopefully wanting more. Keep something back for later.

8.       The second date, or whenever appropriate, kiss goodnight, should be a light little touching of lips to start.  If your date parts their lips, touches the back of your neck, or leans in, it is safe to assume they are happy with proceedings. Conversely, if your date clenches their lips, slaps your face, or retreats, then you should stop straight away.

Now you know how to read your date. Turn that kiss goodnight into many passionate embraces!
